Mr. L. Prosser is one of the first characters we meet in the TV series, as he is the foreman in charge of the crew sent to drive a bypass straight through Arthur Dent's house.
He is an ape-descended human, as well as a direct descendant of Genghis Khan, which, although he didn't know it, somewhat explained his predilection for little fur hats and the insatiable blood thirst that seemed to plague his innermost secret thoughts so very often for no reason that he could seem to put a finger on.
The character of Mr. Prosser was played by Joe Melia in the TV series, and is played by Steve Pemberton in the 2005 big budget Disney movie.
