Biography - Humma Kavula
Everything you ever wanted to know about Humma Kavula, and probably some things you didn't.

Humma Kavula is the villian of the 2005 movie, and was created by Douglas Adams specifically for the big screen adaptation of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. He does not appear in any of the original books, TV series, etc.

He is supposedly some sort of intergalactic missionary with less than a complete grasp of reality. His sanity is questionable, as are his motives, but this does not stop him from becoming a potentially megalomaniacal leader of a religious cult. Although his exact whereabouts are unclear at the moment, it is rumored that he can be found on the planet of Viltvodle VI, preaching to the Jatravartid people as they await the day of the Great White Handkerchief.

Humma Kavula has multiple mechanical spider-like legs sprouting from his waist, with no other lower body to speak of, that he has a fair number of misguided but devoted followers, and he apparently shares the same intergalactic tailor as Elton John.

He states that he used to be a pirate, explaining (though not altogether clearly) how he just so happens to have an item for which Zaphod has been searching.

The character of Humma Kavula is played by John Malkovich in the 2005 big budget Disney movie, "The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy".
