Deep Thought is the second greatest computer ever to be built, and was created by a race of hyper-intelligent pan-dimensional beings for the purpose of determining the answer to life, the universe, and everything.
Deep Thought was able to come up with the answer to life, the universe, and everything, but, unfortunately, was unable to produce the proper question so as to make any sort of sense of the answer. Therefore, Deep Thought designed the greatest computer ever built, a computer of such infinite and subtle complexity that organic life itself shall
form part of its operational matrix, which ultimately turned out to be the planet Earth.
The voice of Deep Thought was played by Valentine Dyall in the TV series, and is played by Helen Mirren in the 2005 big budget Disney movie.
